What is the LET?
The lead employer trust or LET is an arrangement whereby County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust employs all specialty training doctors in the Northern Deanery region (with the exception of GP trainees).

The LET team itself is a dedicated group of talented and friendly HR professionals and support staff. We are there to ensure that your employment whilst training in the Northern Deanery runs as smoothly as possible.

What do we do?
We work in partnership with the Northern Deanery to ensure you are supported throughout your career. We handle all human resources and payroll matters including on-call banding, travel expenses and most importantly, making sure you get paid! We are also responsible for the recruitment and selection of specialty trainees (except GP trainees) and manage your whole application process including the recruitment assessment centres we hold at St James’ Park football ground (home of Newcastle United) each year – hopefully we will see you there!
